PAUL GRADY ENGLAND |

|
Paul Grady England was born in Hugo, Oklahoma on January 12, 1918
and died in Rocky Point, New York on June 9, 1988. He graduated
from Central High School, Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1936; earned a BA at
Carnegie Institute of Technology, Pittsburgh, PA in 1940; M.A. at
the University of Tulsa, Tulsa, Okla. in 1959. Additionally, he
studied at the Art Students League, N.Y. between 1943 and 1946
and Zadkine Studio, Paris, France in 1948 and 1949.
He exhibited widely, including: Philbrook Art Center, Tulsa; Centre d'Art in Port-au-Prince, Haiti; Pennsylvania Academy Oil Annuals; Pennsylvania Academy Watercolor Annual; Library of Congress Print Annual; Colorado Springs Invitational Exhibition ; Brooklyn Museum; Olivet College Annual Graphics Exhibition. He was a Professor of art at Hofstra University |

Atha Shelby DeWeese created a series of paintings decipting the Choctaw "Trail of Tears". The museum possesses nine paintings from this series and her grand-daughter possesses the remainder. A separate page has been created to display this series of paintings. |
