HARVEY GIRLS QUARTERS

The Harvey Girls, who were waitresses at Harvey House restaurants along the route of the Santa Fe & Frisco Railroads, resided in or near the depots where they worked. The Hugo Frisco Depot has a Harvey Girls Quarters on the second floor, above the Harvey House restaurant.

These living quarters consist of three bedrooms, a bathroom and a two room suite (office & bedroom with a water closet) for the matron hired to oversee the girls. The only access to this area, when the depot was in operation, was up a narrow staircase from the restaurant.

The museum has room furntiture from an old hotel in the first two rooms with local rodeo memorabilia in the third. The matron's suite contains two rooms of furniture from a local pre-statehood school teacher, Miss Glenn. The bathroom is in its original condition with a claw foot tub and over-head tank toilet.
