CHOCTAW COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY

The Choctaw County Historical Society (CCHS) was incorporated in 1977 for "the purpose of establishing a museum where historical artifacts can be displayed for the edification of the general populace to include school children." The Frisco Depot Museum was subsequently established in the old Frisco Depot and a public park in front of the depot (Frisco Depot Park) and an RV Park & Club House behind the depot were added.

The CCHS is has a board of directors from which the Society Officers are elected. The board members serve for a three year term with three positions expiring each year. The current (8/18/2009) board of directors are:
  • Noel G. Pence, President
  • Leeta Henson, Vice-President
  • Marilyn Custer, Secretary
  • Norman H. Pence, Treasurer
  • Gail Bookout
  • James Browning
  • Jack Cooley
  • Sharon Lynch
  • Linda Jo Max
The CCHS holds monthly board meetings on the third Tuesday of each month with the May meeting being the annual meeting with the election of new board members and officers. All paid-up members of the CCHS are eligible to vote for Directors, with the Directors electing the officers.

Below are the Agenda, Minutes and Treasurer's Report for the CCHS board meetings, beginning with the January 2009 meeting. These items from prior meetings are on file in the Frisco Depot Museum and are available for public inspection.
