SOUTH WAITING ROOM
During segregation, the South Waiting Room, was the white waiting room.
As a museum this is the main entry area and contains the reception desk
and museum & historical society offices.
Most of the wall space and center of this area is occupied by display cases
containing railroad and local history items and art by
several artists is scattered along the walls. A
Fred Harvey News Stand is along the west wall along with the main
desk from the old Webb Hotel. A piece of the
Sawyer, Indian Territory, Post Office boxes and counter is along the
north wall. A C. Cretor & Co. antique popcorn machine is positioned
at the south end of the area.
Several cases of area photographs and historical newspaper clippings are
positioned around this area and the display cases contain memorabilia from
local families & businesses, indian artifacts, art, handicrafts and
natural history.
Two entrances to the restored
Harvey House Restaurant are at the south end of the area.
